Halloween 2018 on the horizon

Costume retailers are about to enter their biggest time of the year.
While Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year is a bit of a bummer, the weeks leading up to Oct. 31 are always exciting.
Here are five things to look for this Halloween buying season.
There is a lot of anticipation surrounding the latest installment of “Halloween,” which is due out Oct. 19. Be sure to stock up on those Michael Myers masks and other “Halloween-” related accessories.
Not only is it a Marvel movie and the highest-grossing film of the year — two things that automatically make it a major Halloween influence — but the cultural significance of “Black Panther” being the first superhero film centered around a black character will only add to its popularity.
Coordinating looks with friends or family makes for great Insta-worthy opportunities, and that’s the name of the game these days. The Halloween Industry Association predicted via Instagram that “Group costumes are gonna be a thing this year.”
The unicorn craze doesn't appear to be slowing down — and that goes well beyond Halloween. Kids can’t seem to get enough of anything and everything unicorn.
Harley Quinn isn’t going to fall off the map by any means, but look for a dip in popularity after the look was red-hot the past couple of years.
