Party Line: On a Mission

It's already December, which means it's time for the annual Party & Paper Retailer Party Product Licensing List. I have to say that I enjoy compiling this information every year, as it keeps me in the loop on all the hot properties that will be hitting the shelves in the coming months.

The drawback?

Getting the theme songs for a variety of the children's shows and movies stuck in my head and having to Google things like "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan" and "Chuggington" to find out what the heck I'm talking about. However, having this list as a reference throughout the year serves as a great resource, (and not just so I know what my friend's with children are talking about.)

This is also our Trends Issue, supplying you with all the information you will need to plan for the retail year ahead, and our first look at costumes for 2011. The two tie in well together, as many of the trends seen in general partyware translate over to the costume sector as well. Retro themes and licenses, animal prints and Hollywood hype will dominate the scene on both fronts.

And with the end of a year comes some time to reflect, which is why I posed the question, "What is your mission statement for your business?" for our Store Room. With the new year just around the corner, now is a great time to evaluate where your business is at and where you want it to be. Are you staying true to your mission statement? Do you need to shift your focus and your goals?

As for Party & Paper Retailer, our goal is simple - to be the resource for the party, Halloween, costume, bridal and balloon industries.

Mission accomplished? We hope so.
