Paper First Affiliates celebrates 26th Annual Conference & Trade Show

Over 270 participants were on hand to celebrate & participate in the 26th Paper First Affiliates (PFA) Annual Conference & Trade Show, held at the M Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jan. 28-30, 2020. The PFA event continues to be one of the most engaging and successful order writing shows for both members and exhibiting vendors, in the party industry, and this year was no exception. For the fourth consecutive year, the show was sold out and included 15 new, first-time exhibitors, and 20 first time members in attendance.

This years’ show followed its format, kicking off with a day for the Member General Session and breakouts heading into the two-day tradeshow, known for its “speed-dating” 11-minute appointment scheduling, so that all members visit each exhibitor. PFA continued its innovative, fun incentives to keep everyone on schedule: Wheel of Fortune spins and giveaways, Order Bucks, and early sign-up SPIFFS to members.

PFA continues to forge important and profitable partnerships between its members and the vendor community. The PFA Board of Managers provided an entertaining and energetic Let’s Make A Deal show opener, with prizes that including cash, iPads, and of course, “the zonk.”

The General Session included a PFA original, the Hot Spot, a one-hour session that features selected vendors that present and promote one-time only special deals that can only be ordered at that time during the session. This years’ show generated over $820,000 in orders written, all in just one hour. This doesn’t include all the orders that were placed during the trade show portion.

The sold-out two-day trade show featured 15 first-time exhibitors, and this year’s Halloween Direct Import program. The show continues to be a well-executed, network and relationship building opportunity unlike any other in the industry.

Of course, there are so many unique and fun moments from the PFA event each year, including the opening reception hosted by Mayflower Distributing and the closing reception hosted by Fun Express. Participants were also treated to an exclusive PFA VIP evening, hosted by Amscan, which featured dinner with amazing views of Las Vegas. After dinner, participants went to the exclusive PFA Ravello Nightclub, that kicked off with entertainment from MTV Host Rob Anderson, then an evening of music with the featured band, Lucky Devils. PFA mixed it up this year and stayed on property at the M Resort for the special dinner event so that folks could spend more time relaxing and connecting to other members and exhibitors.

As the 26th Annual PFA Conference & Trade Show wrapped up, everyone agreed, this was another resounding success, and can only be accomplished by the generous contributions of all the incredible sponsors, the exhibiting vendors, and PFA members who attend and know just what a valuable benefit this is to their membership.  Thank you to all who continue to make this event the talk of the town and industry.

So, what’s next for this exciting show? Save these dates, Jan. 30 through Feb. 1, 2021 because PFA is heading to the Gaylord National, on the banks of the historic Potomac River in Washington, DC. All the details and registration information will be sent out within the next month or so. Stay tuned! You don’t want to miss this.
