Costume sales expected to exceed $3 billion this Halloween

Costume sales are expected to reach $3.1 billion this Halloween, according to a National Retail Federation survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics. In another NRF survey, total Halloween-related sales are expected to exceed $8 billion. Of the people who plan to celebrate Halloween, two-thirds plan to purchase costumes. Halloween & Party Expo Announces Special Guests for 2013

The Halloween & Party Expo announced two special guests who will be in attendance at the 2013 show, Jan. 19-22, in Houston. Seven in 10 Americans Plan to Celebrate Halloween This Year

According to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF’s) 2012 Halloween consumer spending survey conducted by BIGinsight, a record 170 million people plan to celebrate Halloween this year. Seven in 10 Americans (71.5 percent) will get into the haunting Halloween mood, up from 68.6 percent last year and the most in NRF’s 10-year survey history.
