Internationally-acclaimed “airigamist” Larry Moss brought his “pop” art form to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the city’s first-ever ArtPrize, a unique and “radically-open” art competition that ran Sept. 23 through Oct. 10

His featured Putting On Airs series featured eight printed, framed works depicting some of the world’s most famous painted masterpieces, with the centerpiece being a three-dimensional installation of Botticelli’s famous The Birth of Venus built on-site in only three days entirely out of balloons by Moss and artists Kelly Cheatle and Cathy Adams.

Party & Paper had a chance to talk with Moss about the inspiration behind his art.
